The Royal Berkshire Show 17th, 18th September 2011

The Royal County of Berkshire Show

It is nearly the end of summer, there are only a few more chances for you to see Ed and the team. The Royal County of Berkshire Show is one for the biggest. More importantly it is the last outdoors show, so it is the last chance for Ed to light-up the BarbeSkews and offer visitors a taste of the local produce, cooked by his own fair hands. When you find out what barbecued food should taste like you will be tempted to invest in a barbecue for next summer.

So before Ed curls up into a ball after a very busy summer and hibernates, you had better take your last chance! Click on the logo or their website link here for full details of the show.

Barbeskew named best product at GLEE 2007

BARBESKEW WINS BEST NEW PRODUCT AWARD
Industry recognised award for the World’s First Hands-Free Barbecue

BarbeSkew, the World’s First Hands-Free Barbecue, has been voted best new product at GLEE, one of Europe’s largest trade events for garden, pet and leisure.

Ed Wray, BarbeSkew’s Managing Director, says: “I am simply over the moon. This has been the perfect start to GLEE. The fact that this is an industry recognised award is a massive boost for what I believe is a product which will revolutionise the way people barbecue food in the future.”

The BarbeSkew, which cooks food to perfection, is a new design that makes barbecuing easier and safer than ever before. The days of black sausages with pink middles are over!

The BarbeSkew – which takes it name from BARBEcue and SKEWer – combines the traditional bbq with a spit roast. Instead of a grill above the flames, the BarbeSkew automatically slowly rotates the food on skewers ensuring it is cooked thoroughly but making sure it doesn’t burn. Larger produce such as fish and burgers can be cooked too by placing them in a rotating cages.

The BarbeSkew is the brainchild of entrepreneur Ed Wray who spotted a niche in the market while eating barbecued food at a party. Ed was motivated to design the BarbeSkew as he was fed up of eating badly prepared barbecued food. He says: “On a traditional barbecue, the food is placed on the grill – it burns. It is turned over – it burns. And then it is taken off the grill – uncooked. And what are you left with? Burnt uncooked food.” He continues: “The BarbeSkew not only prepares food properly but the chef can have a drink and chat to guests without worrying about constantly turning food over. And you can cook food in all weathers by closing the lid.”

The BarbeSkew has some brilliant features including:

* a charcoal tray that raises and lowers using a handle that gives fantastic heat control
* nine small kebab skewers and three large ones
* a chrome cage in which to cook fish or steaks to perfection
* an easy-clean removable charcoal / fat tray. It’s never been easier to clean your barbecue.
